Transport of timber and lumber in Ukraine and Europe

Due to their often excessive length compared to standard timber, logs require a special approach to transport. This usually involves trucks with low profile trailers and extended platforms. In some cases, particularly long logs may require vehicles with telescopic trailers that can be extended to accommodate the load.

Logs are usually secured to the vehicle with straps and other fasteners to ensure their safety during transport.

Timber is usually packed in standard containers for ease of transport and storage. Each batch of boards of the same size is carefully stacked and fastened together to form a compact unit that is easy to transport. The volume of these packages can vary according to industry and customer requirements, but is usually around 1m³.

Flatbed trucks are mainly used to transport sawn timber, which makes loading and unloading easier. Light trucks can be used to transport smaller quantities.
